Over the course of the 2013-2014 school year, I’ve had the honor of witnessing Valerie Holland in action as she volunteered at Ralph McKee High School in Staten Island. Valerie used her business expertise and spoke with approximately 30 students about college and career readiness skills on multiple occasions. The students were receptive to her warm personality and thankful for the time she took to discuss resumes, internship opportunities, business setting do’s and don’ts and mock interview scenarios. Her desire to expose the students to various opportunities beyond high school was much appreciated. The teens and young adults that will be impacted by the UCEP team are in great hands.

I am feeling so positive and uplifted today that I didn’t have time to response to this e-mail earlier.  Thanks Gloria for kicking it off and thanks to you all for your support and positive energy.   Val you will be happy to know that I added some candles to my spiritual connection last night. Gloria I really thought about what you said in terms of being in more contact with my ancestors.  I started working on that this morning.  Libby I am taking a yoga class tomorrow and taking the day off for me. Susan, you have encouraged me to make an appointment with NYCERs, just to see what I have to look forward to in a few years.   You ladies are AWESOME!!!

I have a lot of energy today. Something really special happened last night at the group and we all are experiencing it.  I think we are hooked to the GC (God’s current).  I feel really good this morning.  WOW we are an awesome group of women on the move.

I went home with enough energy to get a few things done. Thanks to all of you.
